History of the Foundation

The artist died on July 21, 1996 at the Timmins hospital, of cancer. The Foundation was created by Lise Goulet, niece of the artist. Lise is an engraver and ceramist. Clément Bérini, her maternal uncle, was her mentor.

At Lise's request, the Centre Culturel La Ronde agrees to house the Foundation on its premises and to send the receipts for tax purposes for the donors.

The Foundation gives itself a mandate to promote and disseminate the professional artistic production of French Ontario through a variety of actions that bring together:

  • the work of creation and exhibition,

  • the work of arts management and education of the general public,

  • work in the arts and its contribution to the economy of a community,

  • mobilization work, that is, the capacity of the arts to bring a community together and make it proud of its identity.
